My 9 year old daughter, Ruby-Jayne & myself, recently attended an event in Bridport.
It was organised by the lovely Clare Cameron from ASCape, a charity supporting autistic children and their families.
We all met up at Freshwater Caravan Park & we enjoyed an hour of swimming in the fun pools. This was then followed by the children enjoying a hot meal in the restaurant altogether, whilst the adults chatted & enjoyed drinks. My daughter & I met some lovely new families & we’ve made friends with a lot more people. The afternoon finished with a game of bowling, which all the children & parents/carers thoroughly enjoyed.
Both my daughter & I always really enjoy the events & I always find it extremely beneficial to meet up with other parents who have been through/are going through similar situations to myself & my daughter.
Autism parenting can be extremely challenging, but at the same time, it’s also very rewarding & I wouldn’t change my very unique little princess for the world. It’s fantastic to have this wonderful opportunity to chat with other parents as it helps to make both my daughter & I feel more included within the local community & much less isolated.
We are both already really excited to be attending the forthcoming ASCape event.
Well done, Clare Cameron & your equally, as lovely, partners in crime. You really are super ๐ stars ๐ ๐ฏ ๐ฅฐ. We can’t thank you all enough for your continued help, understanding & support, along with that of all the other wonderful parents, carers & absolutely amazing children.
